05/01-- Male freshwater fish, such as these sunfish, guard nests (the light-colored circles) of their eggs against predators and other males. New genetic information by Purdue Assistant Professor Andrew DeWoody reveals that the fish are willing to eat some of their own eggs in order to survive while guarding the nest.
