4/21/95--Steelworkers Brian Jenkinson, left, and Steve Fines, prepare bolt holes for the placement of the glass and steel "greenhouse" top section of Purdue's new 160-foot Bell Tower (seen in place in the photo below). Work began in October on the new home for the century-old Heavilon Hall bells (bottom of photo), which have been in storage since the demolition of the old Heavilon Hall in 1956.

4/21/95--Metalworkers apply aluminum cladding to the bottom of the glass and steel "skylight" section of the Purdue Bell Tower. The men worked from a basket suspended by the crane that lifted all the steel sections of the tower into place.
