10/97-- This life-size model of Pianitskisaurus, a Jurassic carnivore of modest breathing capabilities, is at the Museum of Paleontology, Patagonia, Argentina. This medium-sized dinosaur, dating back 137 million to 190 million years, had not evolved the more advanced breathing systems of its North American cousins. By the middle Cretaceous period, about 100 million years ago, the Argentine carnivores became the aerobic equals of North American dinosaurs.
