Services to Journalists: The Purdue News web site offers a searchable data base of faculty experts, downloadable news photographs, and recent news releases, story ideas and calendars. Purdue also offers packages of major news releases by e-mail and/or postal mail, based on five broad topics: Agriculture and Natural Resources, Business, Education and Careers, Lifestyles and Science/Medicine/Health.

At least every other month, e-mail subscribers receive a two-page digest containing a one-paragraph summary of each story in the package followed by a document number to use in an e-mail message to automatically retrieve the full text of the news release. Subscribers also receive the news clips of articles published in the media. Those receiving postal mail receive an index, full text of all releases, and a sample of photographs and other graphics available.
