January 9, 2004 Biology student Clifton receives travel award to present paperWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Matthew C. Clifton has received a travel award from the Biophysical Society to present his work at the groups 48th annual meeting Feb. 14-18, in Baltimore, Md. Clifton, a doctoral candidate in biology with emphasis in biochemistry and molecular biology, will present "Ultracentrifuge Analysis of Proteins Involved in Ribose Transport in Escherichia coli." Clifton was one of approximately 30 award recipients, who hail from countries in North America, Europe and Asia. The recipients of this competitive award are selected based on scientific merit, with priority given to those who will present a paper at the conference.
