January 22, 2004 Purdue pharmacy school invites public to speakers' seriesWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Nine corporate pharmacy experts will present their ideas to Purdue University's School of Pharmacy students during spring semester. Among the speakers are representatives from the Eli Lilly and Upjohn (now Pfizer) companies. Pharmacy leaders come to Purdue several times per semester to share their expertise with students, many of whom go on to become leaders in business and academia. The presentations are part of the Dean's Pharmacy Executive Forum and will be of interest to anyone concerned about the future of the pharmaceuticals industry. "The forum brings a range of pharmacy industry leaders to Purdue," said John Pezzuto, dean of the School of Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Sciences. "In addition to their large group presentations, they also meet with small groups of students and faculty members. The forum provides an excellent meeting ground for academe and business." Each forum meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. in Heine Pharmacy Building, Room 164, and is free and open to the public as seating permits. Feb. 6 Kyle Allen, chief operating officer, Methodist Medical Group, Indianapolis, "Compensation in Health Care: Getting What You Pay For." Feb. 13 Steve Cosler, president and CEO, Priority Health Care Corp., Lake Mary, Fla., "Biotech Therapy and Clinical Pharmacy: The Future Is Now." Feb. 27 Bernard Williams, senior consultant, The Quantic Group Ltd., Livingston, N.J., "Compliance Consulting: Pay Me Now or Pay Me Later."
