Video series addresses war and foreign policy

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Committee on Peace Studies at Purdue University is sponsoring a video series entitled On War and Foreign Policy.

The series, which takes place on Mondays at 7:30 p.m., is free and open to the public. The Sept. 13 event is in Beering Hall, Room 2280. All of the other video showings will be in Beering Hall, Room 2290.

The schedule for the fall semester includes:

• Sept. 13, "Uncovered."

• Sept. 20, "The War Behind Closed Doors."

• Sept. 27, "Hijacking Catastrophe."

• Oct. 4, "Why War Against Iraq is Wrong."

• Oct. 18, "Hearts and Minds."

• Nov. 1, "Outfoxed."

• Nov. 8, "The Fog of War."

The Committee on Peace Studies oversees the peace studies minor, which has been offered by the Department of Political Science since 2001, says Harry Targ, professor of political science and committee director. The committee, founded in 1997, organizes video series, speakers and conferences at Purdue on topics relevant to peace studies.
