Top Purdue University Student Leaders to Visit Indiana Statehouse

Purdue Student Government will be bringing the top student leaders from Purdue University on Tuesday, April 5 to the Indiana Statehouse with the theme "Meet Tomorrow's Leaders Today." They will be in the North Atrium from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This year's session has been marked by a variety of bills and issues affecting students and higher education, and this forum is an important event for both students and legislators to interact face to face, so as to showcase both the caliber of student that Purdue is producing as well as to give the student leadership on campus the opportunity to visit the statehouse and to better understand the realities of the political process.

The focus of the event is on each student organization and their leadership, with displays and the opportunity to answer legislators' questions about how Purdue's policies affect them, tuition, and how state appropriations are being spent, while students will get to see the political process first hand.

Among the student leaders and groups to be in attendance will be: Purdue Student Trustee Sarah Cusick, Student Body President Aaron Schnur, Purdue Student Government, Black Student Union, Society of Women Engineers, Mortar Board Senior Honorary, Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Association, Purdue Musical Organization, Purdue Reamer Club, and others.
