Faculty and staff honors

– Beth Holloway, director of Purdue's Women in Engineering Program, has been named president-elect of the Women in Engineering Programs and Advocates Network. She will serve a three-year term, including one year as president of the organization. Based in Denver, the non-profit organization was founded in 1990 to enhance the success of women engineers in academic and professional settings.

– Thomas Webster, an assistant professor of biomedical engineering at Purdue, has been named editor-in-chief of the Journal of Nanomedicine, an international, peer-reviewed journal focusing on the application of nanotechnology in diagnostics, therapeutics and drug-delivery systems throughout the biomedical field. The journal highlights research and development leading to potential clinical applications in the prevention and treatment of disease. Webster also recently was named associate editor in North America for the Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology, an international peer-reviewed journal that covers applications of nanotechnology in all fields of life sciences.
