Faculty and staff honors

– Richard A. Cosier, Krannert School dean and Leeds Professor of Management, has accepted an invitation to be a founding board member of the new Peace Through Commerce Task Force of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The task force is charged to "…consider, plan and execute strategies that will enable and encourage business schools to help faculty, students and others to understand and engage in activities that harness the connection between business; social, political and economic stability; and peace." Chairing the task force is Carolyn Woo, dean of the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame, who is a three-degree Krannert graduate and former professor.

– Tim Potts, captain of patrol operations at the Purdue University Police Department, recently completed the 10-week FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va. He was one of 250 officers to earn a graduate certificate in criminal justice after completing coursework in legal issues, organizational communications, management and leadership, terrorism, contemporary drug issues and physical fitness/training. Potts, who has been with the Purdue police since 1997, oversees patrol officers and student patrol, as well as the management of athletic, convocation and special events.
