Jischke to discuss Purdue's economic impact on Indiana

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University President Martin C. Jischke on Wednesday (Nov. 2) will discuss how Purdue is responsible for tens of thousands of jobs and approximately $2.5 billion in total economic impact each year.

From 2-3 p.m., during WBAA Radio's live call-in show "AM 920 Magazine," Jischke will field questions from host Dave Bunte and the listening audience.

"Purdue Research Park and Discovery Park alone are proving to be huge economic generators," Bunte said. "These complexes are generating new technology, launching new companies and attracting new employers with quality jobs."

Jischke also will discuss efforts by Purdue to partner with the private sector to make Purdue research resources, including its students, available for commercial purposes.

To ask questions, local listeners can call (765) 496-1999. Listeners outside the local calling area can call toll-free at (866) 922-2101.

Jischke discusses different topics on every show, which typically airs the first Wednesday of each month. Bunte said past interview topics with the president included new construction on campus, international student enrollment and student housing.

WBAA's AM signal reaches approximately two-thirds of Indiana and can be heard globally via the station's Web site at http://www.purdue.edu/wbaa
