Purdue Night to bring technology education information to students

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – High school students from several Indiana communities will have an opportunity to learn about programs available in their area.

Purdue University's College of Technology will hold Purdue Night from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 9) at the Anderson Flagship Enterprise Center, 2701 Enterprise Way.

Representatives from the Office of Admissions at the West Lafayette campus and the College of Technology's locations in Anderson, Muncie, Richmond and Indianapolis will be on hand to visit with guests and prospective Purdue students about educational and collaborative opportunities with the college.

High school students, as well as working adults who are interested in furthering their education, are encouraged to attend and learn more about local opportunities, said David Riegle, student services coordinator for the college.

"College of Technology programs in the Anderson/Muncie area give students who are graduating from high school the opportunity to pursue a college degree in a wide range of technology fields without going too far from their homes and families," Riegle said. "The programs offered at these locations cover the same material with the same amount of rigor as the West Lafayette location, and students graduate with the same valuable degrees."

Follett's bookstore from West Lafayette also will be on hand selling a variety of Purdue merchandise.

The Purdue College of Technology offers degree programs in Anderson and Muncie. Currently, students can earn associate's degrees in computer technology, electrical and computer engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, as well as associate's and bachelor's degrees in organizational leadership and supervision and industrial technology.
