December 7, 2005 Purdue students to get welcome relief from stress ThursdayWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Just in time for final exams, Purdue students will have a chance to relax and unwind at a Summer-in-December De-Stress Fest this week. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday in the North and South ballrooms of the Purdue Memorial Union. The Student Wellness Office of the Purdue University Student Health Center and the Purdue Student Union Board are the hosts of the event. The De-Stress Fest will give students a chance to take a break from studying for finals and participate in a variety of stress-reducing activities and games. Activities will include a limbo contest, Hula Hoop contest, volleyball tournament and video game tournament. Students also can learn to knit, play corn hole, receive a massage, make a stress ball, enjoy free food, or decorate holiday cookies, cards or pillowcases. A variety of prizes and gifts will be available to students. Prizes include gift cards to local vendors, free dance lessons at Arthur Murray Dance Studio, free movie tickets and Indiana Pacers tickets. There is no cost to attend the De-Stress Fest. Representatives from Wrigley will hand out free gum and offer students a chance to win $1,000 for books and tuition. Purdue is one of 11 college campuses across the country that Wrigley selected to visit during the months of November and December.
