"Two years ago during Hispanic Heritage Month, we discovered people in the community who had a desire to express their talents through the spoken word," said LCC director Maricela Alvarado. "Because many people requested more opportunities, we started the Bomba Café series last year. We're happy to continue that tradition with this month's topic, 'Hispano-American poetry from 1930-50.'"

Dawn Stinchcomb, assistant professor of foreign languages and literatures, will introduce the topic and facilitate the open session. Participants will have the opportunity to read their favorite poetry or literature, sing or perform their talents.

The program is free and open to high school and college students, as well as community members. For information, call the Latino Cultural Center, (765) 494-2530.
