Governor to meet with Purdue studentsWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels will speak at Purdue University this week to discuss issues pertinent to students and talk about his plan for the Indiana Toll Road.The conversation will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 16) in Loeb Auditorium in Stewart Center. Purdue Student Government is sponsoring the event so students can become more connected with political leaders and discuss the relationship between Purdue and the state government, said Jessica Hoffman, president of Purdue Student Government. "As the governor of Indiana, Mitch Daniels has a huge influence on operations at Purdue," Hoffman said. "This visit gives Purdue students a chance to bring their questions and concerns directly to the man at the top." Daniels has said improving the state's economic climate is one of his administration's priorities so students graduating from Indiana's higher education institutions are able to find a good job in the state.
