Life Plus inks deal with Swiss company for trade in China

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue Research Park-based Life Plus LLC signed an exclusive agreement with a company based in Switzerland to market a niche dental device to the Chinese market.

"We have made significant progress during the past several months around the Chinese approval of the dental device," said Mark D. Cisneros, chief executive officer at Life Plus. "Our progress has convinced our Swiss manufacturer to offer us the exclusive rights to distribute into China."

The agreement gives Life Plus the exclusive rights to market the product in China as a private label. Life Plus will market the specialized dental drills first at select locations, which includes many high-end clinics.

"The era when Chinese people didn't take care of their teeth is long gone. More people in China are paying attention to their smiles now that the economy is going well," said Wei Zheng, Life Plus chairman. "It's quite an honor to have the opportunity to help them enjoy good dental hygiene and a better quality of life. We are recommending the highest quality dental devices in the world because we plan to be in this business for the long run."

The Swiss-made tools are more precise than other equipment so they will reduce pain and suffering, Zheng said. Life Plus officials inspect and test the devices, and he said feedback from China was positive.

Future projects for Life Plus include a focus on the neurosurgical area, and will specifically use products from Indiana.

Life Plus also is helping to develop international marketplace guidelines in China.
