Entrepreneurship symposium offers ideas, panels, speakers

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University President Martin C. Jischke will kick off the fifth annual Krannert Entrepreneurship Symposium at 9 a.m. on Friday (March 31).

The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place on the third floor of Rawls Hall. The keynote speaker is Danny Hewitt, co-founder of Liberty Tax Service and self-described director of guerilla marketing.

Hewitt will be followed by two panel discussions: "Common Pitfalls to Entrepreneurship," moderated by Tim Folta, associate professor of strategic management; and "Funding Your Venture at Each Stage," moderated by Charlene Sullivan, associate professor of finance.

Panelists include Gerry McCartney, Krannert School assistant dean for technology; Jeff Ready, the Indiana Venture Center's entrepreneur-in-residence; Krannert MBA graduate Kevin Boscacci of Indianapolis startup Prosolia Inc., and a number of serial entrepreneurs.

David Gray, president of the Krannert School Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Club, will make closing comments at 12:15 p.m.

The symposium wraps up with a reception and lunch at 12:30 p.m. on the second floor of Rawls Hall.
