Etiquette expert to speak on personal skills for professional success

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Purdue University Center for Career Opportunities will bring etiquette expert and author Peter Post to the Class of 1950 Lecture Hall at 7 p.m. on April 12.

Post, great-grandson of Emily Post, will speak on "The Etiquette Advantage in Business: Personal Skills for Professional Success." The event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the event.

Post is director of the Emily Post Institute. He is the creator and primary presenter of the Emily Post Business Seminar series. He travels throughout the United States and Europe giving business seminars.

Post has more than 25 years of experience in marketing, communications and education. He is author of three books on etiquette, including a "New York Times" bestseller. He has also been writing an etiquette advice column, "Etiquette at Work," in the Sunday edition of the "Boston Globe" since 2004.

Post has a bachelor's degree of arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in fine art from the Pratt Institute.

The Center for Career Opportunities provides career development and employment resources to Purdue students and graduates. In addition to guest lecturers, the center also offers a Career Conversation Series and an online networking service, Talk With a Pro.
