Purdue Musical Organizations present final concerts
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue Musical Organizations will present the final concerts of the year for the Purduettes and Purdue Varsity Glee Club at the newly renovated Lafayette Theatre at Sixth and Main streets in downtown Lafayette.Purduettes Spring Spectacular, the all-female singing group's concert, will be at 8 p.m. Friday (April 28). The Purdue Varsity Glee Club End of Season Concert will be at 8 p.m. May 13.
"It's a brand new venue that has tremendous potential for Lafayette and PMO," said Brian Breed, PMO director. "The shows are two of PMO's traditional local premiere events. We are looking forward to bringing together local and university communities and our outstanding student performers in this Lafayette landmark."
These season-ending performances have become a campus tradition and are a way for seniors to say goodbye to classmates in the presence of their families. Seniors graduating this year have sung at Carnegie Hall and with the late Skitch Henderson's band, among hundreds of other performances.
A pre-show dinner will be offered two hours prior to the Purduettes Spring Spectacular. Tickets for the dinner and show are $37-$40, tickets for the show only are $12-$15 and tickets for the dinner only are $25. In addition, the Purdue Varsity Glee Club will offer a pre-show reception two hours prior to their End of Season Concert. Tickets for the reception and show are $32-$35, tickets for the show only are $12-15, and tickets to the reception only are $20. To purchase tickets, call PMO at (765) 494-3941.
