Schneider Corporation to hold open house for new Purdue Research Park officeWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. The Schneider Corporation, an engineering firm with corporate headquarters in Indianapolis, will have an open house from 4:30-7 p.m. Monday (Sept. 18) to celebrate its new office space in Purdue Research Park.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 1330 Win Hentschel Blvd., Suite 100. Open house speakers include Purdue President Martin C. Jischke; West Lafayette Mayor Jan H. Mills; and Joseph B. Hornett, senior vice president, treasurer and COO of the Purdue Research Foundation, the organization that administers the research park.
"This is a very exciting day for us and our vision of serving the northwest quadrant of Indiana," said Ed Joliffe, president of The Schneider Corporation.
Founded in 1962, the company is a third-generation, family-owned firm with seven offices and nearly 400 professionals serving a range of private- and public-sector clients. Schneider applies professional expertise and sophisticated technology in the areas of engineering, geographic information systems and land surveying services to support its clients' growth.
Schneider had previously been in Lafayette for more than 11 years, but due to an expanding client base and growing service capabilities, additional space and facilities were needed, Joliffe said. The new space houses more than 20 people.
In addition to better serving clients, Joliffe said the interior design will be conducive to recruiting students and graduates from Purdue University who are considering a career in the engineering and surveying fields. Schneider has participated in job fair events at Purdue and has established internship and cooperative programs, as well as provided full-time employment opportunities.
"We wish to do our part to keep Indiana graduates in state, for we believe Indiana's own should build the infrastructure of tomorrow," said Victoria Schneider Temple, chairman of the board at Schneider. "With state-of-the-art facilities, we believe that this office will be a real asset in our recruiting efforts."
Tours of the office will be available, and guests can meet representatives of The Schneider Corporation and take part in technology demonstrations. Hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and refreshments will be served.
