Purdue Convocations releases discounted Wilco tickets

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue Convocations just released a block of discounted tickets for the Wilco performance at Elliott Hall of Music at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 4.

The seats, which are located in back of the first balcony of Elliott Hall, will be $20. Full-priced tickets at $28.50 also are still available.

Purdue University's Student Concert Committee is presenting the Wilco concert. Early Day Miners, a band from Bloomington, Ind., will join the Chicago-based rock band.

In addition to the discounted balcony tickets, groups of 10 or more will now be able to purchase discounted tickets for all seats at Elliott Hall of Music. The discounted tickets will be $25, and groups will receive one free ticket for every 20 purchased. Groups will receive block seating and may reserve their seats immediately and arrange for payment at a later day. Group reservations can be made by calling Purdue Convocations at (765) 494-9071.

Laura Clavio, assistant director of Purdue Convocations and Student Concert Committee adviser, said the new ticket prices should make the concert accessible for all students.

"The Student Concert Committee makes it a priority to bring bands of interest to students at Purdue, and we want to make sure that students are able to attend those performances," Clavio said. "We hope these discounted tickets will encourage those who are not familiar with Wilco's music to take a chance on experiencing something new."

Tickets are available at the Elliott Hall and Stewart Center box offices at (765) 494-3933 or (800) 914-SHOW. Tickets also are available through Ticketmaster outlets. Discounted tickets are only available through campus box offices. There are no refunds or exchanges on previous purchases.
