Jischke to review Purdue University's strategic plan

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University President Martin C. Jischke on Wednesday (Oct. 4) will discuss the impacts of the first five years of Purdue's current six-year strategic plan.

From 2-3 p.m. during WBAA radio's live call-in show "AM 920 Magazine," Jischke will field questions from host David Bunte and the listening audience.

"Purdue has made significant progress, including adding new faculty positions, increasing scholarships and financial aid, expanding research capacity and investing more than $600 million dollars in infrastructure improvements," Bunte said. "The university has also stepped up its engagement with the entire state of Indiana with a focus on economic development and education through the 12th grade."

Jischke also will focus on the university's increased diversity and developments in Discovery Park and Purdue Research Park.

To ask questions, local listeners can call (765) 496-1999. Listeners outside the local calling area can call toll-free at (866) 922-2101. WBAA's AM signal reaches approximately two-thirds of Indiana and can be heard globally via the station's Web site.

Jischke appears on the show monthly, typically on the first Wednesday of the month, to discuss community and university issues. Past interview topics have included sports fan behavior, new construction at the university and Purdue's academic ratings. Previous interviews are archived on the station's Web site.

In addition, Jischke has been traveling around the state to receive Hoosiers' suggestions on what should be next for Purdue. Information about this effort, including which cities Jischke will visit, is available online.
