Evansville native wins student of the month honors from Purdue University ResidencesWest Lafayette, Ind. Purdue University student Joshua Weis won student of the month honors for August for the university's residence halls.
Weis was honored for his performance as a student office manager at Tarkington Residence Hall where he supervised 18 new student employees during a month when University Residences welcomed its largest freshman class of residents.
"Josh's attitude in the office has been outstanding," said Sheryl Hodson, the hall's residential life manager. "He deserves to be recognized for his efforts that have gone above and beyond the requirements of the job."
Weis, a junior studying computer graphics technology, is from Evansville, Ind. He is a semifinalist for the National Residence Halls Honorary (NRHH) Student of the Month Awards.
NRHH sponsors the awards to recognize the outstanding contributions of individuals, groups or programs that make a positive impact on residential life. Judges consider the impact made on the residence hall and campus communities, interactions the nominee had with the hall during the month of the nomination and how the nominee motivated others.
