Founder of Ambassadors for Children to speak at PurdueWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Sally Brown, the founder and president of Ambassadors for Children, will speak at Purdue at 7 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 28).Brown, a Purdue alumnus, will speak during the Ambassadors for Children Purdue chapter meeting in the Steven C. Beering Hall of Liberal Arts and Education, Room 2290. The talk is free and open to the public. Ambassadors for Children is a nonprofit, charitable organization based in Indianapolis which facilitates short-term humanitarian trips focused on bettering the lives of children who live, study and play in impoverished communities. During the talk, Brown will discuss the national and international programs she is involved with, as well as provide information on how students and others in the community can become actively involved with helping children around the world. Brown was recognized last summer by the United Nations for her work with children. Brown received a doctorate degree in hotel and tourism management in 2005 from Purdue's College of Consumer and Family Sciences.
