March 12, 2009 Faculty sought for Discovery Park's Entrepreneurial Leadership AcademyDiscovery Park's Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship is accepting nominations for two separate faculty development opportunities supported by the Kauffman Foundation and in partnership with the Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence.Nominations are due April 6. Through the Entrepreneurial Leadership Academy, faculty members can learn how to incorporate entrepreneurial concepts into their programs and identify potential commercial opportunities. Faculty also meet with distinguished administrators and leaders to discuss topics critical to the development and support of leadership and entrepreneurial skills. Faculty members who complete the 2009-10 program each receive a $5,000 development award and gain access to Discovery Park staff, equipment and resources. One participant also will be named a Kauffman Entrepreneurial Faculty Scholar, receiving $15,000 worth of support to continue work on their Discovery Park project. Faculty will be selected to the academy in May and join the academy in August for the fall 2009 semester. No more than 10 faculty members will be chosen to participate in the program. Entrepreneurial Leadership Academy members from previous years are not eligible. To nominate a faculty member from a college or school, Purdue vice presidents, deans, department heads and directors can submit a: * Three-page bio of the faculty member, using the National Science Foundation style as a standard. * 1-2 page statement written by the faculty member regarding interest in this opportunity and expected impact of participation. * Signature of endorsement from the department head and dean.
