Six Purdue faculty members have been chosen as 2009-10 fellows in the Academic Leadership Program sponsored by the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC).

This program is an intensive experience to develop the leadership and managerial skills of faculty who have demonstrated exceptional ability and administrative promise. Purdue has named fellows to the program each year since 1989-90.

During the course of the year, CIC Fellows will travel to three host campuses to address the challenges facing higher education and learn more about the abilities and knowledge necessary for academic leadership. This year, Purdue will host Seminar III on April 8-10. In addition to the three seminars hosted each year on the various campuses, Purdue’s program includes monthly meetings with campus leaders.

The CIC is an academic consortium of Big Ten universities and the University of Chicago.

CIC Academic Leadership Fellows for 2009-10 from Purdue are:

* Liping Cai, professor of tourism management and associate dean for diversity and international programs, College of Consumer and Family Sciences.

* Rebecca Doerge, professor of statistics and interim head of the Department of Statistics.

* Eckhard Groll, professor of mechanical engineering and director of the Office of Professional Practice.

* Linda Mason, professor of food pest management.
