	  <description><![CDATA[GlucaGo LLC, a life sciences company led by a trio from Purdue and Indiana universities, captured the 2009 Global Idea to Product Competition and claimed the $10,000 top prize, beating 14 other teams that qualified by winning local competitions.
<p>The Global I2P entrepreneurship event, held Oct. 30 and 31 in Austin, Texas, featured teams from 19 universities and eight countries - Great Britain, Portugal, Japan, Sweden, Germany, Ireland and Brazil, and U.S. competitors from Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Texas, Colorado and New Hampshire.</p>]]></description>

Krannert Professor of Management in the Krannert School of Management; Torbert Rocheford as the Patterson Endowed Chair in Translational Genomics for Crop Improvement; and Wallace Tyner as the James and Lois Ackerman Professor in Agricultural Economics.</p>]]></description>

	  <description><![CDATA[Alphonso V. Diaz has been named Purdue University's executive vice president for business and finance,&nbsp;treasurer, effective July 1. As the university's chief financial officer, Diaz will report to Purdue President France A. C&oacute;rdova and the board of trustees. 
<p>"Al Diaz is an experienced administrator. He is skillful at getting people to work together toward common goals," C&oacute;rdova said. "His deep experience in leading complex organizations, in which he has interacted with a diversity of stakeholders including elected officials and community members, is exactly what Purdue needs as we move forward to meet our strategic goals. 	  <description><![CDATA[In an effort to better prepare students for the changing needs of businesses and to develop the next generation of business leaders, the Krannert School of Management is revising the curriculum for its two-year MBA and one-year MSIA programs.
<p class="FORMAT-BODY">"Business organizations today are more global, more technology dependent and less hierarchical," said Manohar Kalwani, head of Krannert's Department of Management who led the process to change the curriculum. "As organizations have become flatter, business leaders are expected to foresee opportunities and address problems that cut across functional boundaries. MBAs today rarely start their careers in a given area and finish their careers in the same area."</p>]]></description>
