March 3, 2008 2008 Purdue Research Park Job Fair features variety of high-tech jobsWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -
"The goal of the job fair is to successfully match the talents of qualified job seekers with the high-tech opportunities of Purdue Research Park's companies," said Joseph B. Hornett, senior vice president, treasurer and COO of the Purdue Research Foundation, the organization that administers the research park and sponsors the job fair. The fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the University Plaza Hotel, located at 2001 Northwestern Ave. in West Lafayette. Most full-time positions require a bachelor's degree or an advanced degree in the specified field. Job seekers are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes. Companies participating in the event include Akina Inc., Arxan Defense Systems Inc., Brogan Pharmaceuticals, Butler International Inc., EDS, Endocyte Inc., Imaginestics LLC, MED Institute, Passageways, Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union (PEFCU), Quadraspec Inc., SSCI - An Aptuit Company, and Simulex Inc. Arxan Defense Systems Inc. is a provider of antitamper software solutions. Openings at Arxan include software systems engineer, software security analyst and software engineer. Internships also are available in the field of software security. Butler International, a global service provider of project engineering and technical staff outsourcing, has a variety of positions, including airframe design engineer, manufacturing process engineer, quality assurance analyst and aircraft design checker. Butler's West Lafayette location is the New Jersey-based company's largest operation in Indiana. EDS, a leading global technology services company, is hiring software engineers and business analysts with degrees in computer science, business management or management information systems. Passageways' products enhance internal communications in the financial services industry. Positions available include ASP.NET Web developer, quality assurance analyst, software support specialist and account executive. Simulex has several available positions in the fields of electrical and computer engineering, computer science and political science. "Simulex needs candidates who can apply their knowledge and experience to help take our company to the next level of high technology," said Lena Carlson, a technical writer at Simulex. Other positions available at Purdue Research Park-based companies include: research scientist, bioanalytical scientist, chemist, clinical manager, software development engineer, analyst, information technology systems administrator, network engineer, XRPD laboratory specialist, mortgage loan representative, building services supervisor, personal service adviser and tech support engineer.
