Aviation students, enthusiasts invited to Purdue Fly-In/Drive-In

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Students in Purdue University's Department of Aviation Technology are inviting pilots, current and potential students, and those with an interest in aviation to a breakfast and networking event on April 12.

The Purdue Fly-In/Drive-In will be 7:30 a.m. to noon at Hangar 5 at the Purdue Airport. The all-you-can eat breakfast will feature pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under.

"Our goal is to reach out to everyone in the region with an interest in aviation, from students to those in academia to those in business to talk about topics in aviation," said Crystal Mathews, a senior in aviation technology. "It's a great opportunity to network, find out more about aviation and learn more about Purdue's aviation program."

Mathews said participants have the option of either flying in to the airport or driving.

The event is being sponsored by several aviation technology student groups, including the Aviation Technology Student Council, Purdue Women in Aviation, the Purdue Flight Team and the American Association of Airport Executives. The proceeds from the event will be split among the student groups.

Those interested in attending can RSVP to Jenny Thomas at flyinpurdue@yahoo.com, but walk-ins are welcome.
