July 18, 2008 Appointments, honors and activities• Appointments and promotions:— Lance Wright, founder and chief operation officer of BioConvergence LLC in Bloomington, Ind., has been selected to serve a three-year term on Purdue University's Technical Assistance Program (TAP) advisory council. A Purdue industrial engineering graduate, Wright has more than 20 years of combined work experience in the precision machining and pharmaceutical industries. BioConvergence offers drug product development, supply chain and materials management, toxicology and clinical materials manufacturing and packaging, quality control testing, and consulting services for the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. TAP supports performance improvement in Indiana companies and organizations by connecting them with Purdue experts who can help solve technical problems and increase efficiency. Staff members in nine offices throughout Indiana serve companies, hospitals, health departments and governmental units throughout the state. • Faculty and staff honors: — Willie Reed, dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine, received a Governor's Award for Achievement in Education during Indiana Black Expo's Summer Celebration Governor's Reception July 15. Reed was among 33 education, business and community leaders from across the state who were honored.
