Purdue ag economist looks to the future during outlook meetings

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University will host 17 Ag Outlook meetings during December to give Hoosier farmers and industry representatives a better idea of what's in store for the coming year.

The focus of the program is to help explain factors that are driving farm prices this year both to heights and now to the depths, said Chris Hurt, Purdue Extension agricultural economist.

During the meetings, Hurt will examine the impact of the volatile prices on Indiana land values, cash rents and lease arrangements.
