May 21, 2009 WBAA to host screening of documentary on Garrison KeillorWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - WBAA will present a screening of the upcoming American Masters documentary "Garrison Keillor: The Man on the Radio in the Red Shoes" on June 4 at Eastside 9 Theater in Lafayette.Tickets for the 7 p.m. screening are $20 and are available at the theater. Proceeds will go toward WBAA programming. Additional contributions can be made by calling 765-494-5920 or at http://www.wbaa.org Emmy Award-winning producer and director Peter Rosen followed Keillor closely for a year, providing an in-depth look at the host of American Public Media's "A Prairie Home Companion" and "The Writer's Almanac." The documentary is being screened in several cities and is scheduled to be telecast July 1 on PBS as part of its American Masters series. "A Prairie Home Companion" can be heard on WBAA-FM, 101.3, from 6-8 p.m. on Saturdays and on AM 920 from 2-4 p.m. on Sundays. "The Writer's Almanac" can be heard at 8 a.m. and 1:01 p.m. Monday through Friday on WBAA-FM and at 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday on WBAA-AM. WBAA-AM, licensed in 1922, is Indiana's longest continuously operating radio station, and 920-AM provides news, information, public affairs, jazz, folk and other eclectic music. The AM and FM signals are available digitally. The programming can be heard globally via the station's Web site at http://www.wbaa.org WBAA-FM provides Tippecanoe and surrounding counties a mix of classical music and fine arts programming.
