Summer Concert Series to include dinner, variety of musical acts

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue Memorial Union's annual summer concert series will begin July 8 and feature dinner and diverse musical styles.

The four free Wednesday shows begin at 6:30 p.m. on the union's front lawn. Food will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. Meal tickets are $5, and a la carte pricing is available at the event. Seating for the concerts will be limited, so attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets.

Concert dates and performers are:

July 8 - Michael Kelsey (Acoustic rock)

July 15 - Woodstove Flapjacks String Band (Americana)

July 22 - Laugh at Linus (Acoustic funk) and Roothog (Psychedelic, Americana)

July 29 - Big James and the Chicago Playboys (Blues)

In case of rain the concert will be in Purdue Memorial Union's North Ballroom.

The series is sponsored by the Purdue Memorial Union and Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union. PEFCU boasts assets exceeding $500 million and serves more than 57,000 members nationwide. The credit union is a member-owned cooperative dedicated to serving the Greater Lafayette community.
