Farm bill seminars slated for Aug. 22, 26

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Indiana Farm Bureau and the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service are sponsoring a series of informational seminars on the new farm bill.

The meetings will be across northern Indiana on Aug. 22 and 26. Anyone interested in the farm bill may attend the free sessions.

Included in the meetings will be hands-on sessions by Purdue ag economist Allan Gray on a spreadsheet program that helps farm program participants calculate their government payments. The Farm Service Agency will send farmers their base acre numbers in early August, and producers will be able to get a personal analysis based on those numbers.

The meeting schedule is as follows:
