The images are available by clicking on the "Purdue Treasure Chest" link, located on the right side of Purdue's home page at

The screen saver shows the water sculpture with Hovde Hall in the background along with Purdue's new brand identity. The virtual postcard page offers seven images:

• A photo of the Purdue Mall.
• A "Go Boilers!" train logo.
• A photo of the Boilermaker Special.
• A "Purdue Power!" logo.
• An aerial shot of Ross-Ade Stadium.
• A photo of Cary Quadrangle.
• An aerial photo of Mackey Arena.

The desktop wallpaper page offers 12 images in three sizes. They range from technically oriented photos, such as a single-stage transonic axial compressor with an inlet guide vane, to photos of Purdue landmarks, including Purdue's Engineering Mall and the water sculpture.

Denton Brown, the Internet/systems manager for Purdue Marketing Communications, says new photos will be periodically added to the site. Brown says the idea for the site came from interest generated by Purdue's appearance in the Rose Bowl.

"When we went to the Rose Bowl, we created a screen saver," Brown says. "We had such a good response that we decided to do another screen saver, add postcards and desktop pictures. We expect even more dynamic images in the near future with all the new construction and excitement surrounding Purdue."

Brown says football fans also will appreciate an interactive online game called the "Last Drive," which will be posted in November.

"It's the last few seconds of the game, and you have to drive your team from your own 20-yard line," Brown says. "Different plays are set up that we pulled from online training manuals for coaches. If you fail to get a first down, you lost the game."

The wallpaper, screen savers and postcards are available in both Windows and Macintosh formats.
