Appointments and promotions
J.P. Gore, associate dean of engineering for research and entrepreneurship and the Vincent P. Reilly Professor of Mechanical Engineering, has been appointed director of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Engineering Studies. Linda P.B. Katehi, the John A. Edwardson Dean of Engineering, announced the appointment on Thursday (2/6). Gore will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the institute "and realigning its constituent activities with the strategic plans of the Schools of Engineering and Purdue University," Katehi said. He will have administrative and budgetary responsibility for all institute activities. Former engineering dean John C.
