Session to offer essentials of staff recruitment, selection
The Affirmative Action Office and Human Resource Services Employment will offer "The Essentials of Staff Recruitment and Selection" from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday (Aug. 7) in Room 318, Stewart Center.
Directed toward hiring supervisors and committees as they proceed through the staff hiring process, the session will provide guidance on the search process from beginning to end, including how to enlarge applicant pools, evaluate applicant credentials, conduct a fair and legal interview, what to include in offer letters, and successful documentation of the process.
All hiring supervisors and search committee members who are new to the hiring process, new to the University, or who would like a refresher on the fundamentals are encouraged to attend.

This session is being offered prior to the beginning of the fall semester for those supervisors who are better able to attend at this time of the year. A full slate of educational opportunities, including "The Essentials of Staff Recruitment and Selection," is scheduled for this fall and will be announced in September.
