Affirmative Action Office announces fall workshops

The Affirmative Action Office announces its fall 2008 Faculty Search and Screen Procedures Series and Staff Recruitment and Selection Series.

Faculty Search and Screen Procedures Series

The Affirmative Action Office is pleased to announce its fall semester 2008 Faculty Search and Screen Procedures Series.  Please encourage your faculty and support staff to register for the session(s) that best suits their needs.

The registration pages can be accessed by clicking on the event dates below. Session participants will receive the Faculty Search and Screen Procedures fourth edition manual.  Additional copies of the manual may be requested from the Affirmative Action Office at any time.
 
Search and Screen Essentials
This presentation will examine the faculty search and screen process from beginning to end and will focus on the role of faculty as members of search and screen committees.  All faculty are welcome.  Faculty newly appointed to search and screen committees who have not served on a search and screen committee at Purdue or who would like a refresher are strongly encouraged to attend.

The Nuts and Bolts of Faculty Search and Screen for Support Staff
This session is designed to aid support staff in preparing and processing the necessary documents for the faculty search and screen procedures.  Anyone involved in the faculty search and screen process who would like to learn about required procedures, document completion, and the approval process should attend.

Staff Recruitment and Selection Series

The Affirmative Action Office and Human Resource Services Employment are pleased to offer the University community a series of sessions designed to assist supervisors in developing and refining their staff hiring and employee retention skills.  To reserve a space at a session, please register at the links provided below.
 
The Essentials of Staff Recruitment and Selection
Directed toward hiring supervisors and committees as they proceed through the staff hiring process, the session will provide guidance on the search process from beginning to end, including how to enlarge applicant pools, evaluate applicant credentials, conduct a fair and legal interview, what to include in offer letters, and successful documentation of the process.
