Catalyst Award presentation scheduled for Sept. 5

Everyone in the Purdue community is invited to the Catalyst Award Reception and Ceremony on Friday, Sept. 5, honoring excellence in enhancing diversity and promoting an inclusive work environment.

Morgan R. Olsen, executive vice president and treasurer, will present the initial Catalyst Award. The event will run from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. with the ceremony at 1:30.

During the first and last portions of the hour, attendees will be able to enjoy networking and sampling desserts from around the world.

The location is the main-level lobby in Elliott Hall of Music. Entry to the hall as usual on the end by Hovde Hall will be available. Access for persons with disabilities will be by entering Hovde at the back toward the Bell Tower end, taking the elevator to the main level, and using the crossover to Elliott.

This spring, several teams made presentations about their diversity programs at a Catalyst Award Showcase. A committee has evaluated those presentations and selected a winning team, which will not be announced until the ceremony.

The winning team will receive an emblem of the award plus $5,000 toward enhancing their diversity efforts.
The Catalyst Award is an initiative of the Office of the Executive Vice President and Treasurer.
