Panel to discuss affirmative action at Purdue

The Diversity Resource Office, the LEAD Peer Mentors Program and the Office of Institutional Equity are sponsoring "Affirmative Action at Purdue" at 4 p.m. today (Feb. 24) as part of the Project Respect series.

The purpose of the program is to explore the history and scope of affirmative action and its implementation at Purdue, in order to facilitate an increased understanding of the program.  All members of the Purdue community -- students, staff, and faculty -- are invited to attend the event.

A panel of university guests will present information on Affirmative Action and its implementation at Purdue.  Aftre the presentations, the panelists will respond to pre-submitted questions regarding affirmative action at Purdue. 

Panelists include: Dean Pamela Horne, vice president for enrollment management and dean of admissions; Diana Prieto, JD, director of the Office of Institutional Equity; and Niambi Carter, assistant professor of political science in the College of Liberal Arts.
