Purdue Research Park-based engineering outsourcing firm, Butler International, to hire 50

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind., February 28, 2007 — Butler International Inc. (PK:BUTL) officials announced Wednesday (Feb. 28) plans to hire 50 new employees, mainly senior design engineers, to work at the company's engineering design and technology development center in West Lafayette, Ind.

Opened in July 2005, Butler's Engineering and Technology Development Center at Purdue Research Park provides outsourcing services to customers for engineering design, stress analysis, and legacy conversion projects in a variety of CAD platforms. The full-time positions available include senior design engineers, stress analysis positions, process engineers, materials and process engineers, gear design engineers, and gear analysis engineers.

"Our team at Butler's West Lafayette Design Center provides Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. with helicopter design support for a multitude of aircraft models," said James Elsner, operations manager. "We've been successful in recruiting job candidates to West Lafayette with strong engineering backgrounds, and we will need more of the same as the operation continues to grow."

Butler will participate with 16 other technology firms in the Purdue Research Park High-Tech Job Fair, an annual career fair open to all jobseekers. The event, sponsored by Purdue Research Foundation, will be at Purdue Research Park's flagship business incubator, the Purdue Technology Center, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday (March 1). Butler expanded its operations at the research park's Ross Enterprise Center in early 2006 when officials exercised a lease option for an additional 17,660 square feet of space.

"In addition to the ongoing work for Sikorsky, we have moved our design center supporting CAT from Lafayette to West Lafayette. This brings the headcount at our Purdue Research Park center to more than 100 employees operating from more than 30,000 square feet of space," said James Beckley, senior vice president of Butler Technical Group. "Our willingness to expand Butler's Purdue Research Park-based facilities is a testament to the great relationship we have with the Lafayette, West Lafayette and Purdue communities."
