Triple the amount of jobs at this year's Purdue Research Park High-Tech Job Fair

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Hundreds of jobseekers are expected to attend this year's Purdue Research Park High-Tech Job Fair on Thursday (March 1) to learn more about the fair's 16 participating research park companies and to vie for more than 100 available positions.

The job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the park's Purdue Technology Center, 3000 Kent Ave. Most full-time positions require a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree in the specified field. Jobseekers are encouraged to bring their resumes.

Purdue Research Park companies participating are Alliance Group Technologies/Delphi-D Test Lab, Arxan Technologies Inc., Butler International Inc., C-SPAN, Cook Biotech Inc., Endocyte Inc., ICx Griffin Analytical, Human Performance Safety Consultants Inc., Imaginestics LLC, MED Institute Inc., Officescape Inc., Quadraspec Inc., Simulex Inc., SSCI – An Aptuit Company, State Farm Insurance & Financial Services, and Vasc-Alert LLC.

"Purdue Research Park has added 21 companies to its roster in the last year, so it naturally follows that the number of jobs available here has increased," said Joseph B. Hornett, senior vice president, treasurer and COO of the Purdue Research Foundation, the organization developing the Purdue Research Park. "But more companies don't necessarily account for this year's record-breaking number of positions. This phenomenon stems directly from the growth and success of our ventures.

"And Research Park firms are not only hiring, they are looking for executive talent."

Among the available positions are director of regulatory affairs, quality control supervisor and senior design engineer.

Arxan Technologies Inc., an information technology company involved in protecting valuable intellectual property from tampering and theft through patented software, is seeking a software security engineer, a quality assurance engineer, a software security analyst, an embedded systems software engineer and interns.

Endocyte Inc., a private biopharmaceutical company working to develop targeted therapy products to treat cancer and inflammatory diseases, is seeking a senior CRA, a quality assurance/quality control manager, a process chemist, an inflammation research associate, an inflammation postdoctorial fellow, an analytical chemist, a director of regulatory affairs and a biology intern.

Quadraspec Inc., a biotechnology company formed around a compact disc-type technology or "Bio-CD" used to perform rapid molecular detection assays, is seeking a field service engineer, a quality control supervisor, quality control chemists and manufacturing chemists.

"Quadraspec's rapid growth requires several new positions," said Jonathon Bradley, Quadraspec's director of staffing. "We need candidates that can contribute to the high-quality, highly efficient manufacturing process we have built, as well as aggressive sales people to help us capitalize on the novel products Quadraspec has released."

To generate a qualified pool of candidates, Purdue Research Foundation advertised the job fair to the Purdue University campus community, the Lafayette/West Lafayette area, Indianapolis and Chicago.
