Purduettes to tour Florida during spring breakWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Purdue University's women's glee club the Purduettes will perform in a series of concerts and appearances in the Naples, Fla., area on March 12-16.
The group travels the country performing an eclectic repertoire of jazz, country, pop, show tunes, classics and more.
"We've been traveling to southwest Florida for many years," said Brian Breed, director of Purdue Musical Organizations. "This tour is a product of Purdue Musical Organization's long-term commitment to the Purdue faithful in this beautiful part of the world. Our tours and programs always strive to showcase our outstanding student performers as ambassadors of goodwill to a broad audience."
The Purduettes will first perform at the Cedar Hammock Golf and Country Club Restaurant in Naples, Fla., beginning at 6:15 p.m. on Monday (March 12). The concert will be accompanied with a prime rib dinner and a cash bar. Tickets for the event are $50 and can be purchased by calling (800) 893-3041 or (765) 494-3941.
Throughout the tour, the Purduettes will visit and perform at various retirement communities and local high schools.
On March 15, the Purduettes will make their final public appearance at 7:30 p.m. at Moorings Presbyterian Church. This concert is free and open to the public.
"The Purduettes represent a diverse pool of talent from across campus and the very best of Purdue women," Breed said. "These women are handpicked for their vocal and dance talents to represent Purdue."
