Purdue graduate student honored at conference

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Julia Clarke, a graduate student in Purdue's School of Civil Engineering, received second place in the graduate competition for a poster presentation during the Second Annual Joint Conference of the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation and Midwest Crossroads Alliance for Graduate Education for the Professorate. Clarke is working with Vincent P. Drnevich, a professor of civil engineering, civil engineering assistant professor Marika Santagata, civil engineering associate professor Antonio Bobet and Cliff Johnston, a professor in the Department of Agronomy.

Purdue student receives award at TRB 86th annual meeting

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The 2007 Transportation Research Board's Fred Burggraf paper award was given to Purdue civil engineering undergraduate student Gaurav Sant, postdoctoral research associate Pietro Lura and associate professor Jason Weiss at the TRB 86th Annual Meeting in January in Washington, D.C.

Graduate student receives Remote Sensing Award

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Jen-Yu Han, a Purdue civil engineering doctoral student working with Professor Boudewijn van Gelder, received the 2006-07 Stevan J. Kristof Outstanding Graduate Student in Remote Sensing Award. The award recognizes achievement and professional potential in remote sensing as related to a discipline at Purdue. The award recipient is chosen by members of the awards committee in the Laboratory for Applications of Remote Sensing, or LARS, and the LARS director.
