Purdue students add French flair to spring fashion showWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue's apparel and design technology students will present the 2007 annual spring fashion show, "J'adore la Mode," April 14 under a tent during the university's Spring Fest.
The tent will be on the lawn north of Herrick Laboratory at the corner of West State Street and South Intramural Drive.
Nancy Strickler, who teaches fashion design in the consumer sciences and retailing department, said the students will bring high style and presentation to two shows.
"Students designed all the clothing and organized the show, from staging to music to choreography," Strickler said. "Some will receive scholarships, and awards will be presented for best-constructed and best-designed garments."
The first show begins at 1 p.m. and will include designs from underclassmen, as well as five collections from seniors. Tickets are $2 for children under 18 years old and $4 for the general public. Family groups up to six with at least one adult are $10.
The second show is at 6 p.m. and will feature collections from seniors in addition to designs from underclassmen. Tickets are $15 for seats closest to the runway and $13 for all other seats.For tickets, call Jeannie Navarre (765) 494-8356.
