Purdue actors to perform preview of New York showcase

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Before they are featured in a showcase in New York City, a group of Purdue Theatre graduate students will present a preview of their performance at 1 p.m. Saturday (April 14) in the Carole and Gordon Mallett Theatre in Pao Hall of Visual and Performing Arts.

The preview, which is free and open to the public, will feature the same material the students will perform for casting directors and agents on May 7 at the 45th Street Theatre in New York City.

The performers will include Amanda Folena of San Jose, Calif., Stacie Hadgikosti of Roseville, Mich., Caley Milliken of Elmira, N.Y., and Andrew Carlson, Lisa Darden and Joe Quadres, all of Lafayette, Ind. Professors Kristine Holtvedt and Richard Stockton Rand will accompany the students. Actors from Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park also will perform.

The preview will include scenes and monologues from a variety of shows including "Raised in Captivity," "Lobby Hero" and "Division Street."

Purdue Theatre is a member of the University/Resident Theatre Association and the National Association of Schools of Theatre.
