Purdue trustees to vote on next president Monday

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue Board of Trustees will vote at 2 p.m. Monday (May 7) in Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse on the candidate proposed to be the university's next president.

The candidate will be on hand afterward to speak to the audience and answer questions. Following the announcement, a reception will take place next door in the Purdue Memorial Union ballrooms.

The public is invited to attend both events. Overflow seating will be available in Fowler Hall, which is also in Stewart Center. 

The announcement can be viewed live on the Web at the Purdue home page, Streaming video will be available at 
later that day. A complete news package also will be available at the home page after the vote.

The announcement also will be covered live on the Purdue cable channel (Insight Channel 5), on WLFI-TV 18 and on WBAA Radio AM 920.

Purdue's 10th president, Martin C. Jischke, announced last August his plan to retire on June 30. His successor was nominated by a search committee representing the trustees, faculty, staff, students and alumni.
