Purdue University Police are looking for a white male who attempted to allegedly kidnap a female jogger west of Slayter Center near the Delta Upsilon fraternity house, 1300 W. Stadium Ave. about 7:30 a.m. today.

The man was west bound on Stadium while the jogger, who is a Purdue student, also ran west. He stopped his car and told the woman to get in, said Jeanne Norberg, spokesperson for Purdue. The jogger paused, saw he had what appeared to be about an 8-inch serrated steak knife with a black handle, and ran southwest toward the Aquatics Center. The driver continued on westbound toward McCormick Road.

Police released a composite of the suspect. He is described as a white male in his late 20's or early 30's, with a scruffy beard and a large build, possibly wearing a white T-shirt and driving a mid-1990s model  four-door light blue sedan, possibly a  Pontiac. The alleged victim said the vehicle did not have automatic windows, and the back seat was full of items, possibly white trash bags, as well.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Purdue Police Department, 494-8221.
