Purdue crew teams top field at Dad Vail Regatta, capture trophies

The Purdue Crew team recaptured the Jack Bratten Point Trophy, and the men's team won the Dr. Thomas Kerr Jr. Points Trophy at the Dad Vail Championship Regatta on May 11-12.

The Purdue women's team narrowly missed the recapture of the women's point trophy during the regatta, which is held on the Schuylkill River's 2,000-meter racecourse in Philadelphia.

The team trophies were earned based on strong performances by all the crews, led by victories in the men's and women's Heavyweight Eights, a first for the team, and a win in the women's Freshman/Novice 4+.

The Junior Varsity Women's Eight and the Novice Men's Lightweight Eight also earned bronze medals in their events.

The Dad Vail Regatta is the largest collegiate regatta in the United States, with more than 100 colleges and universities competing from the United States and Canada.
