University of Iowa presidential announcement, Webcast expected today

The state of Iowa's board of regents is expected to select the next president of the University of Iowa when it meets at 4 p.m. (ET) Thursday (June 21), and the announcement will be streamed live on the Web.

The announcement can be viewed live via the Internet at mms:// (Note: This link will not be active before the announcement.) The video also will be made available by 8 p.m. Thursday for later viewing at mms://

Immediately after the meeting, the new president is expected to be introduced to the University of Iowa community during a public event.
Finalists for the University of Iowa presidency included Purdue University Provost Sally Mason; Philip Furmanski, executive vice president for academic affairs at Rutgers; Charles R. Bantz, Indiana University vice president and chancellor of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis; and Mark P. Becker, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost at the University of South Carolina.
